Be Selfish

Be selfish in your pursuit of what you need to be happy, fulfilled, and at ease. Be selfish to provide for yourself the energy-restoring necessities of your mind and body. It’s the most important thing you can do right now.


  • What moves you, gives you energy, nourishes your mind?

  • What do you want to do, need to do, but feel you can go without–feel that it’s second-rate or non-essential? What do you want to do, but feel other things are more important?

  • You know it’s necessary–you know it’s right–when it’s something that you “just don’t have time for.” We have a creative way of avoiding the most important things for the seemingly urgent. When the most imporant things are often the things we should, in fact, make urgent. What is that thing on the back of your mind that you want to do, but never seem to make time for? That’s what you most need to do now.

  • Be selfish. Make time. You will find you have all the time in the world when you do what’s important, what’s necessary to your happiness, first. And you’ll gain more energy in return. Your cup will be full! And that’s really not selfish at all, but the best thing you can do for yourself and others.
