We often get so busy we don’t make time to relax and enjoy life. Here’s something to try.
Consider:
- Pause to notice the small moments of comfort throughout your day: a warm cup of coffee, a sun-lit room, a hot drink on a cold afternoon.
- Take 1-3 minutes to do something comforting:
- Take 3 minutes to read a few lines from your favourite book;
- Make yourself a cup of tea while you work;
- Take 60 seconds to relax the tension from your body and just breath.
- Remind yourself that life is meant to be enjoyed.
- Yes, it’s busy. Yes, there are time constraints and demands–and it will never slow down. You must consciously and purposefully take time to pause and give yourself moments to enjoy life thoroughly.
- Give yourself 1-3 minutes. Do whatever feels comforting at the moment. Set a timer. Feel how much you can gain from just 60 seconds of intentional relaxation and enjoyment.
