A Simple Way to Feel Better

This tension exists when you feel something that you don’t want to feel—when you feel something, and you don’t know why you feel it. You feel frustrated because you ordinarily feel good, yet today—or lately—you don’t. Feeling good is a challenge.

Once again, curiosity holds the key. Instead of rushing to avoid the feeling, get curious: curious about how you feel, curious about what you fear, curious about what will happen if you just do—not speculate, but discover the results through action, through doing.

Consider:

  • This feeling is normal. Sometimes I feel this way, and it’s normal—it passes.
  • What would happen if you stopped worrying and kept going, kept moving forward, no matter how awkward and disorderly it feels? Things feel like this sometimes. You’ll work the kinks out. You just have to keep doing, keep doing anyway. Sooner or later, it will feel good again. Sooner or later, you’ll see—it’s not you—it’s just how things go sometimes.
