When You Need a Little Encouragement

When you strive to be the best version of yourself, it’s often a silent battle. There are many struggles that go unrecognized by others. It can feel like no one understands the effort it takes to show up as you do.

You may be tempted wallow or indulge in self-pity. Taking responsibility to better yourself means giving up the dependance on others validation of your efforts.


  • Only you know the depth of what it takes show up and deliver what you do. Don’t look to others for validation. Instead, provide yourself the recognition you need.
    • You are the only one who knows what you’ve overcome to get to where you are now.
    • You are the only person truly qualified to validate your efforts!

  • Think of those small things you quietly desire (and deserve!) recognition for: the intensity of discomfort you push yourself through, your commitment to show up when you’re tired, worn down—these things that you secretly wish others would understand and know. Give that validation to yourself!
    • Reward your successes and encourage yourself in your daily efforts.
    • Those mental battles, internal struggles, and small triumphs hidden from the rest of the world–no one can acknowledge the great accomplishment of that effort but you!

  • You’re not alone. It may feel like no one understands you and that you’re the only doing this–especially when it’s hard, others feel this way too. There are others quietly battling on next to you around you–they understand you. They feel you–I feel you!
    • Don’t wait for others to validate your efforts.
    • You know yourself best and you can rely on yourself for support and encouragement at any time. Only you can provide yourself the true validation that you deserve and need.
