When things are going well, and you feel confident and secure, it’s easy to feel good. But then a challenge strikes, your confidence wanes, and you find yourself discouraged again. Instead of longing for the good times, consider how you can keep feeling good now.

Consider:

  • This is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. This is your opportunity to practice, to hone your skills. To learn, once again, how to better manage yourself and your mind in situations like this. This is what you’ve been practicing for: challenges just like this.

  • What works well for you? What do you know helps? Keep doing those same things now. Practice what’s been working so well up to this point.

  • This is your opportunity to put your mental training to the test. This is your chance to evaluate what works and what doesn’t, so you can use these tools in the future to keep feeling good, and feel good more often.
