When Things Are Hard

Some weeks feel exhausting. Some multiple days in a row do. You’re tired and you can’t seem to recover as quickly as you usually do. Everything feels harder than usual.

Consider:

  • Sometimes, you feel this way for no known reason why. That’s OK. Some weeks you require more time and rest to recover than usual.

  • Consider the demands you’ve placed on yourself. Think of all you’ve been trying to do, taking on, and working towards. Perhaps, this is your body telling you to slow down and give yourself more time.

  • Don’t force yourself; be gentle with yourself.
    • Lower the demands where you can. Narrow down to what is most essential and put the rest aside.
    • Take your time. Give yourself extra time to complete what you need to do.

  • Refocus and reaffirm your why.
    • Remind yourself why you’re doing this in the first place. Why is this so important to you?
    • Focus only on this most important thing. Don’t worry about perfection; focus on what you can do today to bring your best intention and purpose to what is most important right now.
